China: The U.S. Needs To Stop Its Anti-China Rhetoric

This top-level meeting has mostly been buried in western news media outlets, especially after the Chinese side pulled no punches during a high-level meeting in China. The Chinese side let their American counterparts know how they perceive the current U.S posture.

Chinese foreign vice-minister Xie Feng criticized America’s anti china rhetoric.

The Chinese diplomat vice-minister Xie Feng on Monday said, The U.S is creating a distraction, and using China as the scapegoat for all its own problems at home.

During high-level talks with the United States, Xie accused the U.S of creating an “imaginary enemy” to divert attention from domestic problems and suppress China.

“A whole-of-government and a whole campaign is being waged to bring China down”, Xie said, adding the U.S belief appears to be when China’s development is contained, all US domestic and external challenges would go away, and the US would “become great” again and the so-called Pax Americana would continue.

Later the Chinese foreign vice-minister Xie Feng told his US counterpart that the two countries are in a ‘stalemate.
